How It Works

Teenagers, especially teens whose teeth are crowded or overlapping, can find it difficult to find an orthodontist willing to treat them. Dr. Bryan Countryman specializes in treating teens with an Invisalign® treatment plan. Teenagers often present challenges for the orthodontist that don't exist for adults. He will work with the teenager to come up with the most effective treatment options. The Invisalign® treatment is a custom-made, computer-assisted, cosmetic orthodontic treatment plan in which brackets are bonded to the front of the teeth to slowly shift the teeth into the correct position.

How long does the Invisalign treatment process take?

Invisalign is a revolutionary teeth-straightening treatment and nearly 70% of patients who complete the Invisalign® treatment process are very satisfied with their results. The average length of time an Invisalign treatment takes varies from patient to patient and is dependent on the severity of their smile. With that being said, an Invisalign treatment typically lasts around 15 months.

What if they lose an aligner?

This is a question with which you might have been wrestling, especially since this is your child’s first orthodontic treatment. It may be more of a concern for some than others, but it is certainly worth consideration. For starters, Invisalign® aligners are not reusable and will not work again once lost. If your child loses an aligner, you’ll have to find a dentist who is registered with Invisalign® and you’ll have to be willing to pay for a new aligner. This is the same for any orthodontic treatment.

Are there any food restrictions with Invisalign aligners?

There are no restrictions on food or drink with Invisalign® aligners. You may be concerned that your child will be able to eat too much sugar or other food, but this is not the case. In fact, you will be encouraged to provide your child with lots of healthy food.

How much does Invisalign treatment for Teens cost?

The Invisalign® Teen program offers four treatment options. The first option is the Invisalign Teen® Starter kit. This option includes a base set of aligners and a month of Invisalign Teen® treatment. The second option is the Invisalign Teen® Complete kit. In this option, you receive a month of Invisalign Teen® treatment and a month of Invisalign Teen® retainers. The third option is the Invisalign Teen® Ultimate kit. In this option, you receive a month of Invisalign Teen® treatment and a year of Invisalign Teen® retainers. The fourth option is the Invisalign Teen® Ultimate XT kit. In this option, you receive a month of Invisalign Teen® treatment and a year of Invisalign Teen® retainers and a month of Invisalign Teen® XT retainers.
